On the US West Coast roads

This year I was invited to an annual conference organized by the Loma society, specialised in the insurance industry. This invitation rewards those who have obtained one of their certifications. So last September I went to San Diego. During my trip, I took the opportunity to discover or rediscover some places on the West Coast. In my agenda there are some national parks, Las Vegas and San Diego. Five years later, I am back in Uncle Sam’s country!

3 of Quebec’s most beautiful routes

5-copier

Despite its 36 million inhabitants, Canada has a vast territory. Indeed the country ranks second in the world in terms of surface area, behind Russia.
Like Canada, the province of Quebec also benefits from an extensive geography, which could contain 3 times France. But when you want to explore the region, the task does not look so simple when you see all the kilometers you have to go through.
During my different trips in Quebec, I spent a lot of time on the roads. Some may be somewhat boring, like route 40 linking Quebec and Montreal. Others, on the other hand, are less monotonous and allow you to admire beautiful landscapes. I suggest that we review together 3 beautiful roads of Quebec.

Autumn colors

In Quebec autumns, one after another, are very similar. Every year at the end of the summer the days become less and less sunny and the temperatures alternate between freshness and heat. Gradually the trees are transforming and then put on their best outfits. In the streets, parks, forests, you can see the same phenomenon, and above all the same dominant color: a prominent red. That of the maple.

5 ways to immigrate to Canada

img_3230-copier

Each year, Canada welcomes to its territory several hundred thousand immigrants, like refugees, permanent residents, temporary workers or students, people who immigrate to Canada for different reasons.
Many French people decide to settle in Quebec because the French language is spoken there. This obviously makes the integration easier because there are already many changes: culture, climate, work, family, friends, social life. Sometimes these differences are too difficult to overcome, that is why about half of the French immigrants return to France after five years of life in Quebec. So if you plan to settle somewhere in Canada, it will be better if you are aware of the cultural differences that await you.
You have plans to move to Canada? This will require first that you obtain a visa. So here are five ways to help you to achieve this goal.

10 places to visit in New Brunswick and Gaspésie

0-IMG_1351 (Copier)

Last year my friends and I did the classic roadtrip of a tourist in Canada: Niagara Falls, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City and Tadoussac. But Canada is also about nature, wilderness and wide-open spaces. And when you go to cities you do not necessarily see this aspect there. This is why some people, who do the classic trip in Canada, are disappointed not to discover more of that side. Since I moved to Quebec City, many people told me about beautiful areas in Canada: Gaspésie, Maine, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, or the Magdalen Island, to give you some examples. The more I was listening to their stories, the more I wanted to discover these places. It was only a matter of time before I decided to go there.
This summer friends from Paris had planned to come to see me in Quebec City. Nothing was really planned but we would certainly have been to Toronto, Montreal and New York.
Unfortunately their trip had to be canceled because of a broken leg. My holidays were already planned in that period, so I had to find a solution. To go or not to go somewhere on vacations? That was the question.
On further consideration, it has been quite a while since I have taken some vacations, so I told myself that a little break would not do me any harm. So I decided to keep my initial vacation dates. Now I just had to find a destination. The Caribbean, the United States or Canada? That’s when I thought about all those people who had told me about all these beautiful places to discover in Canada, and that the best time to do that was during the summer. My choice was made, I will go to the east of Quebec, to New Brunswick and Gaspésie!
Aware that my friends of Quebec City were not on vacation at the same time as me, it is for that reason that I tried to find travel mates on social networks or by talking about it around me. It seemed so complicated to me: date issues, budget etc. Sometimes some people seemed motivated at first and ended up not answering me. Finally I decided to go alone for adventure, a first for me. Maybe it is a blessing in disguise.
Today I wanted to share with you, in 10 steps, my 8-day roadtrip in New Brunswick and Gaspésie, two beautiful regions of Canada.

Shrimp and scallop pasta

During my holidays I have travelled miles. Every day it was several hundred behind the wheel, plus a dozen during my hikes or excursions. Under these conditions to eat well became more complicated, and the evening fatigue took precedence over hunger. But strangely since I got back from vacation I only think about eating. Have all those hours of walking improved my appetite?
Today I had a craving for pasta, so you are going to Italy!
